Galentine’s Day

Valentine’s weekend 2014 was spent in the Windy City with my hometown best friend, Veronica. The weekend is somewhat of a blur – partly because whenever we are together I lose all sense of time and partly because my blood alcohol content was steadily .06. Friday was intended to be a pub crawl night but was quickly traded in for an evening in sweats and dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets. My body thanked me Saturday morning when I arose after a full 8 hours of sleep and no crippling hangover. We spent the majority of Saturday hitting the streets of Lincoln Park, spending our hard earned dough on some totally necessary new threads. After we literally worked up a sweat shopping we decided it was time for some grub and fluids. We hit up a new favorite, Lincoln Park Stadium Bar & Grill, for some $4 bellinis and chicken tenders. (Side note: I have a serious kryptonite for chicken tenders and these were possibly some of the best I’ve ever had. THEY WERE ENCRUSTED IN CAP’N CRUNCH CEREAL!) After lunch we napped like the adults we are and prepared for an evening out on the town. First stop was the Trump International Hotel & Tower. Talk about jaw-dropping views. After one or ten cocktails in the hotel room we ventured out. Once the bars turned the lights on, a few of us headed back to the hotel for a little room service pizza and some z’s. The weekend was capped off by a delicious room service breakfast consumed while wearing my luxurious Trump bath robe. Fake it ’till you make it, kids!

Overall it was an unforgettable weekend away spent with some of my favorite people. Until next time Chi-Town.
